Mission of Studio: "We are committed to creating a space where people feel welcomed, supported and able to experience the true benefits of yoga. — A place where people can cultivate a deep sense of feeling and BEING alive and well!" Unique offerings: "We focus on elements of the yoga system beyond the postures and the physical fitness, yet we make these breathing, meditation, and lifestyle practices accessible for the modern yogi living in our western culture. We teach a balanced variety of asana classes which give students the opportunity to enliven, energize and strengthen the body OR restore and nurture themselves with a quiet practice. All of our classes are taught by knowledgeable and passionate teachers who are dedicated to living the practices they promote". Style We Teach: "At Asha Yoga we have: Dynamic Yogi: Vinyasa Flow/Anusara Balanced Yogi: Yin/Yang Mellow Yogi: Restorative with hot stones!!" Inspirations to Start Teaching These Styles:"Vinyasa: I love the meditative flow blended with the deep and strong physical work. I also love the effect of a practice that links breath with movement in such a fluid and intuitive way. --This definitely allows me to cultivate a meditative, peaceful center even while working through some challenging moments- in asana practice as well as in daily life. Yin/Yang: I became attracted to this style 4 years ago toward the end of my first pregnancy. I needed something that was a little quieter, slower, and more passive. The yin still offers strong sensation that keeps me focussed in the moment, and in my body, but it's definitely more restful AND an excellent preparation for meditation. The added element of the yang helped me to re-build my strength slowly and very mindfully. I wanted to teach this style simply because I experienced the healing benefits for myself and also experienced for the first time a NEED to have a more gentle element of practice". Greatest teaching joys: "Teaching yoga inspires me to practice more, learn more, be the best person that I can be, and pay enough attention in my own life that I can teach from my experiences. The opportunity to see people grow and be so profoundly effected by yoga is also incredibly rewarding". Long Term Goals: "I've recently begun to focus more on programs and classes that help people integrate what we learn in yoga into our daily lives. I have developed a 5 week "living Yoga" challenge and a Teacher Training/Immersion Program, which I feel both really embody that idea. Personally, I am interested in focusing on silence, increasing my experience of silent retreats, AND making sure I LIVE my yoga as a mother, a wife, a teacher and a business owner".
"Our mission at Hot Yoga At Sunrise is to offer a place where students can expand and align themselves mentally, physically and spiritually through the practice of hot yoga. We are located by the beautiful American River Parkway in Fair Oaks Village, which is a unique and peaceful setting with large windows looking out at a natural setting. Our teachers arehighly qualified and offer diverse teaching styles. Versatility, education and love of the practice are shared in every class. A family and community spirit prevail. We teach mainly Bikramstyle hot yoga. Expanding and diversifying our studio recently, we have added new instructors in vinyasa flow, hot Pilates and chi yoga (a ti chi / yoga combination in a heated room with a wonderful & very popular teacher!). Bobby and I were inspired to teach Bikram style hot yoga because of it's athletic support and injury free results. Teaching and sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm is the most rewarding thing and a person can do. Knowing that yoga is the healthiest physical, mental and spiritual practice available is the biggest reward a teacher can have. We are all students of life and as instructors we are constantly learning everyday along with our students. Our greatest teaching joys areteaching! The feeling you get from every single class is exhilarating! Sharing our knowledge whether helping a student in a pose, explaining asana benefits or spiritual truths teach us who we really are on a daily basis. The gifts we receive from our students and yoga practice are priceless. We do it for love pure and simple. Our long-term goal is to purchase the building our studio is in so that we can stay here and teach for the rest of our lives. We Love this Location and so do our students! We feel that Hot Yoga truly is the fountain of youth. It will keep you young, flexible, strong and agile as well as mentally sharp and spiritually aware for the rest of your life. The highest consciousness is born of an awakening soul - we are that."- Robin of Hot Yoga at Sunrise
“Yoga combines the bodily and the spiritual with each other in an extraordinarily complete way.” —Paramhansa Yogananda. Ananda Yoga combines the best of a revitalizing workout with a gentle inward approach that leaves you feeling mentally rejuvenated and peaceful. The Ananda Yoga system uses classic Hatha Yoga postures to redirect the body’s energy inward for the development of greater awareness, and as a preparation for meditation. All of our instructors are both yoga postures experts as well as longtime meditators. One of the unique features of Ananda Yoga is the use of affirmations with poses to enhance the mental, spiritual, and physical benefits. Classes are suitable for all levels of skill, from beginner to advanced. Alice Westerinen, a Sacramento native, is one of our main yoga teachers at the Ananda Center in Rancho Cordova. Previously, she had worked as an environmental specialist. Her deepening interest in spirituality led her to Ananda. “Ananda Yoga had such a dramatic positive impact on my own life that I simply wanted to share that experience with others. It took a harried, stressed out executive back to physical vitality and mental calmness, and opened the doorway of an amazing spiritual journey. Ananda Yoga is accessible on many levels and each participant chooses the aspect that is most meaningful to them, ranging from physical and mental relaxation to increasing spiritual awareness. I love observing the "before and after” experience of the students. They come to class revved up from their day and when they leave they are peaceful, vibrant, filled with light and willing to share those divine qualities with everyone they encounter." - Ananda Center of Sacramento
